About Me


Philip Barton has been playing music since he could walk and was writing music soon thereafter. He can play multiple instruments in a myriad of different styles. Philip can play guitar for a country gig or be a drummer for a blues band. He lives to play music and tell stories through song. His main instrumental influences are Otis Redding, Al Green, The Talking Heads, James Brown, and Mac Demarco. His main song writing influences are Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Randy Newman, and Carole King.

He is currently studying “Music Performance, Business, & Technology” at The College of The North Atlantic. He is in the band “International Dating Agency” as the lead guitarist, vocalist, and head songwriter. He also runs the Newfoundland music magazine “Newfoundland Noise,” an all Newfoundland music magazine that aims to give more exposure to the music the island of Newfoundland makes.
